LEMON LOAF        
 1/3 Cup shortening  
 3/4 Cup white sugar  
2     Eggs, beaten  
1 1/2 Cups all purpose flour  
1 1/2 Tsp baking powder  
 1/4 Tsp salt  
 1/2 Cup milk  
  Grated rind of 1 lemon  
  (Pecans optional)  
  Mix shortening & sugar, add eggs and mix well.  
  Add baking powder & salt to flour and  
        add alternately to mixture with milk.  
  Add grated rind of lemon.  
  Mix and put into loaf pan.  
  Bake 45 to 50 minutes in 350 degree F oven.  
  Glaze; Squeeze lemon and add to 1/4 cup sugar. Let dissolve.
  Take loaf out of oven, poke holes and spoon glaze over.
